1. What is Carry?
Carry is a carpool network that connects college students heading to similar destinations, allowing them to share rides, all through our smart phone app. Our goal is to make transportation less of a hassle and inconvenience for college students by making carpooling easy, affordable, and flexible.
2. How does it work?
After you sign up, you can either search for a ride to and from a location, or simply offer a ride to help minimize your cost of traveling. Whenever you need a ride somewhere, you simply tap “Find a Ride,” and let Carry connect you to someone going to the similar destination. With our built-in messaging system, the Rider can ask any questions about the trip and communicate with the Driver. The Rider will pay a minimal amount towards the cost of the trip based on gas mileage and maintenance to the Driver's car.
3. How does payment work?
Riders will pay in advance when they complete their booking for a Driver's trip. Driver's should advise Riders to check in within the Carry app at the time of departure ensuring that Riders are guaranteed their rides. Payment will then be transferred to the Driver's bank account within 2-3 business days.
4. What if I don’t have trip matches?
If no desired ride is available, then you can set an alert so that you will be notified when a ride to your destination becomes available!
5. As a Driver, when do I receive my payment?
It’s very simple. When you pick up your Riders, ask Riders to check in within the Carry app. This will ensure that the trip is being offered and once the ride is completed, payment will take 2-3 business days to arrive into your bank account.
7. How do cancelations work? (Driver)
If you want to cancel your ride it must be cancelled 24 hours before your departing time. If you are truly unable to offer your ride, please contact your Riders immediately and let them know. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org as well, so that we can resolve this issue and manually cancel your ride. Sorry for any inconvenience, we have this policy to ensure Riders are guaranteed rides.
8. How do cancelations work? (Riders)
If you want to cancel your booking it must be cancelled 24 hours before the departing time in order to receive a refund. If, for some reason, you are unable to show up or have to cancel within 24 hours, please contact your driver immediately and let them know. Please email us at email@example.com as well, so that we can resolve this issue manually. Sorry for any inconvenience, we have this policy to ensure Riders do not abuse the Carry Platform.
9. How does Carry differ from Uber or Lyft?
Carry is a service enabling students to share the cost of their trip with other students. Drivers don’t make a profit with Carry, they simply recoup a portion of their driving expenses. That means Drivers don’t go out of their way – they simply drive like they normally do, except now they share the cost and ride with someone.
10. How does it affect my insurance?
Your insurance will not be affected by choosing to drive or ride with Carry. Your insurance coverage will act just as it does if you were driving a friend, family member, or a neighbor.
